Now I can see you’re trying to ease my worries, and I don’t mean to seem ungrateful, but there are many people in the world who share the same name with another. In this case, yes, you may also be known as “Elise” but a separate individual who I…wrongfully murdered held the same name. Yes, you may be very much alive but she is not. There is no reason to pretend else wise.

I’m not proud of it, certainly not happy about it either, but I know fully well that I unfairly ended the life of a girl named Elise, something I wish I could take back with each passing hour. Because of this knowledge though, I’m driven to become a better man, to make it up to her and the countless others who were unjustly killed by the workings of that awful baron…and me.

I thank you again for trying to reassure my guilt but I will set this matter straight: Your attempts are only in vain.
